下表表示恒壓驅動電路在低速時,對單極與雙極驅動工作效率的比較。電流與線圈匝數之積稱為安匝,與轉矩成正比,兩者如轉速相同,輸出功率也與其有比例關系。由于低速時,電抗小,電抗如果忽略不計,V/R即為電流,與N之積VN/R變成安匝數。同樣,雙極電流為V/2R,匝數也為2N,此積與單極情形相同為VN/R。輸入恒壓驅動的情形,雙極與單極比較,如下表所示,電流只有單極的1/2,低速時的效率為單極的2倍。小型化或低速時,要產生大轉矩的情況,應使用雙極式驅動,但驅動電路復雜。
